About the Journal

Madah is a journal published by Balai Bahasa Riau, with P-ISSN 2086-6038 and E-ISSN 2580-9717. This is a scientific journal of language and literature that publishes various reports of research results, literature studies, and scientific papers on language and literature.

Madah is published periodically twice a year, in April and October. This journal also serves as a medium for disseminating information on research results and language and literature studies.

Peer Review Process

  1. Reviewers will provide written feedback at the appointed time, with a commitment to contribute scientific value and significance to the assigned duty, e.g. by making the reviewer's feedback available in written documents concerning the purpose of the research and its scientific value. This is done by mitra bebestari (reviewers) in written documents.
  2. Reviewers will confirm whether submitted manuscripts are well-composed, concise, relevant, scientifically accurate, original, and within the journal's focus and scope.
  3. Reviewers will avoid personal comments and criticism.
  4. Reviewers will not open communication in any form with authors except as authorized by the editor. It is strictly forbidden to contact the author without permission from the editor.
  5. If a reviewer is not confident about returning a review within the mutually agreed time frame, they will promptly inform the editor and recommend other potential reviewers.
  6. Reviewers will assess scientific performance, originality, and scope of the work, providing feedback for improvement and recommendations of acceptance or rejection based on an evaluation scale.
  7. Reviewers will check the manuscript for originality and ensure there is no copyright infringement.
  8. Reviewers will notify the editors of any conflicts of interest resulting from competitive, collaborative, or other relationships or connections with the authors, institutions, or companies related to the manuscript.
  9. Reviewers will ensure that the standards and policies applied by the journal are appropriately adhered to by the submitted manuscripts.
  10. Reviewers will protect readers from erroneous or defective research that cannot be verified or validated.
  11. Reviewers will flag any statements taken from previous relevant reports or published works without proper citation.

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Article Processing Charges and Submission Charges

Every article submitted will not have any "Article Processing Charges." This includes peer-reviewing, editing, publishing, maintaining and archiving, and allows immediate access to the full-text versions of the articles.

Accreditation Certificate

Madah has been accredited by the National Journal Accreditation (ARJUNA), managed by the Ministry of Research, Technology, and Higher Education, Republic of Indonesia, with Third Grade (Sinta 3) since July 9, 2018 to 2020, according to decree No. 21/E/KPT/2018.

Copy Editing and Proofreading

All articles received by Madah are edited and proofread by language editors to ensure that the articles are written in scientific and standard language, and that there are no spelling errors.

Every article submitted to Madah shall use a reference management application: Mendeley.
