Abstract

This article studies realisms in a short story entitled “Bulan Gendut di Tepi Gangsal†written by Wa Ode Wulan Ratna. The aim of this study is to know and to describe the characteristics in short story  “Bulan Gendut di Tepi Gangsal†written by Wa Ode Wulan Ratna. The use of content analysis method focusing on the text of the short story explains the meaning of the content of symbolic interaction taking place during the communication in the story so that the content could be well understood. The research findings show that there are 8 characteristics of realism in a short story entitled “Bulan Gendut di Tepi Gangsalâ€.  Tulisan ini mengkaji realisme dalam cerita pendek “Bulan Gendut di Tepi Gangsal†karya Wa Ode Wulan Ratna. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan ciri-ciri aliran realisme yang terdapat dalam karya sastra Indonesia bergenre cerita pendek berjudul BGTG karya Wa Ode Wulan Ratna. Penggunaan metode analisis isi yang memberikan perhatian pada teks karya sastra menjelaskan makna isi interaksi simbolik yang terjadi dalam peristiwa komunikasi, sehingga dapat dipahami isi cerpen itu secara tepat.  Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa ada tujuh karakteristik realisme dalam cerita pendek “Bulan Gendut di Tepi Gangsalâ€.
