Meaning shift frequently occurs in translation, often influenced by linguistic and cultural differences between the source language (SL) and the target language (TL). This study aims to analyze types of meaning shifts in the short Arabic video “Fawaz Nuroh: Al-Amanah” on the Sukardi Hasanudin YouTube channel. Using a qualitative descriptive approach with listening and note-taking techniques, the data were analyzed based on Miles and Huberman’s interactive model. The results reveal three types of meaning shifts: from generic to specific (7 data or 26.92%), from specific to generic (1 data or 3.85%), and shifts caused by cultural perspective differences (18 data or 69.23%). These findings revealed that cultural factors play a dominant role in shaping meaning shifts during the translation process, highlighting the importance of cultural awareness in Arabic–Indonesian translation.
