Visual intelligence skills will develop if supported by educators' understanding of multimodal concepts. However, there is a lack of knowledge about multimodal concepts among educators to support visual skills. This study aims to describe the feasibility of presentation and design standards in textbooks based on BSKAP and their interaction with multimodal concepts. The research method used is descriptive qualitative. The data source in this study is the 2023 revised edition of the Indonesian Language textbook for Grade VII Junior High School/MTs from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology in the form of illustrations that have been considered with multimodal analysis. The data collection technique in this study uses descriptive observation through document review. Data analysis uses content analysis and interactive analysis models. The results obtained from the presentation and design standards were dominated by the ability to provide communicative aspects to students in accordance with the context of the text based on the delivery of content and use of language, and the suitability of the illustration data with its multimodal elements. The implication of this study is to help interpret an image with text that can improve visual knowledge and skills.References
